Published author and Tourette’s Syndrome advocate and educator Myles R. Walker is in the studio today to bring you education over the netwaves! Myles’s Tourette’s Syndrome means that he has uncontrollable tics, twitches, and vocalizations. That’d be enough for one person to deal with, but the fact that he’s a black man in the South has needlessly complicated matters. He’s had the cops called on him, has been kicked off buses, and has thoroughly been treated like a fourth-class citizen. That’s Not Okay. It may be uncomfortable, but we need to talk about this.
Tourette’s Syndrome Awareness Month is May 15 – June 15.
